When to use it
We use the Present Indicative to:

1. Talk about habitual actions in the present 
  • Asistimos a misa todos los domingos. (I go to mass every Sunday.)
  • ¡Cosas malas siempre me ocurren! (Bad things always happen to me!)

2. State a fact
  • El secreto consiste en escuchar. (The secret consists of listening.)
  • ¡Insisto en que cenes con nosotros! (I insist that you have dinner with us!)

3. State something what will happen in the near future (normally used with an expression of time)
  • La tienda abre por primera vez mañana. (The store opens for the first time tomorrow.)
  • ¡Rápido, el tren sale en cinco minutos! (Quick, the train leaves in five minutes!)
